Getting Adequate Rest in Two Areas of Our Lives

I wanted you to learn how to get adequate rest in two areas of our lives. This is based on personal experience and I'm letting you know it works for me.

Two areas where adequate rest is being produced is: mental and physical.

I've had some mental battles I've overcome through prayer, reading the Word of God, and maintaining my personal relationship with God on a heightened level. So let me tell you that it's not easy by yourself but with God, all things are possible. All things are possible to them who believe in His name, His promises, who believe in His plans.

I've walked this life pondering on this simple truth without even knowing this truth existed:

Romans 8:28-And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. (KJV)

God is so good.

This truth can also give your mental state rest:

Jeremiah 29:11-For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (KJV)

The "saith" does it for me in the King James Version!

Back to what I was implying, this writing is going to be short and simple. Don't worry about that! Another truth that can help your mental health:

2 Timothy 1:7-For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (KJV)

I gave you three examples! There's way more in the Bible you can apply to your current situation. If you need a Bible Glossary to assist you, there's always one behind a physical Bible. You'll just need to do your research. Need assistance? Speak to someone you know who is an expert in spiritual leadership or just do it yourself! However, God guides you to do it! Rooting for you! Even from far away!

Let's go into the second area of rest which is physical. I do believe these scriptures:

1 Corinthians 6:19- What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, whom you have from God, and you're not your own? (KJV)

&

1 Corinthians 6:20-For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which is God's. (KJV)

Now that we have knowledge of these two scriptures, we can understand how very important it is to honor God with our bodies!!

A part of that is resting. Resting physically can mean feeling physical burnout and resting where you're at, taking a small break, taking a bigger break, or taking a nap.

Just ensure it's exactly what's best for you.

It can mean going out and literally doing your favorite hobby:

-getting something to drink.

-getting something new to wear.

-getting something new to eat.

-getting a new pair of shoes.

-doing something you like that's productive.

It's basically resting in God while maintaining productivity.

Sometimes for me, it's literally just taking a nap or ensuring my emotional needs are being met in God's Presence.

Examples:

-Praying to God about my situation.

-Praying to God about anything.

-Talking to God about what I do daily or occasional basis.

-Reading the bible more than usual and meditating on it (the bible is clear in many studies is wearisome to the body in Ecclesiastes so we have to be extremely careful with what we entertain physically).

Habits that affect our restful moments would be:

-Complaining based on circumstance.

-Not doing the things you should be doing regularly.

-Not maintaining a focus and restful mindset in God.

-Wanting what's not yours to have right now.

-Not doing anything productive.

-Not getting enough sleep or the proper sleep you can maintain (pattern-wise).

-Not having a daily routine.

-Not being spontaneous with what you do regularly can affect your health.

Ensure to do what you love. What's best for you. But also, what God wants you to so faithfully do for Him.

Bye!
